Help to put the tows up- this Sunday

Winter’s getting closer and its time to get ready for the snow. We’re putting the tows up this coming Sunday, 7th November starting 10.30 on the field at Allenheads. If you can get there earlier, all the better as the cabin will be open by 10.00. As ever, we need all the help we can get so that we can get the work done during the morning.

If you want refreshments afterwards, the Hemmel Cafe will be open serving Sunday lunches, although you may need to book if you want the lunch – more information at: The Hemmel Cafe – The Cafe in Allenheads. Hope to see you on Sunday,

Patchy snow – no skiing yet

There is more snow on our slope than indicated on neighbouring webcams. Often 6 inches and more in places where it had drifted. Unfortunately there are a few very thin if not bare patches where the wind has blown the snow. The ground is very wet as well. With the colder weather forecast, all we need now is a  little more snow as forecast later this week. Skis crossed.

Snow & Maybe tows today?

Snowing heavily and a covering of a few cms. Very uncertain how long the snow will last as rain to follow later this morning. If conditions stay OK, we’ll run the tows but will review later this morning – update on 0191 597 4174 about 11.00am. Will also update here by lunchtime.

More skiing tomorrow

Excellent day skiing & snow boarding. Started with a good 15cms deep covering of snow and still complete cover tonight. Plan is to run the tows from 9.30am Friday. Probably only until about lunchtime as forecast for more rain and rising temperature.

The Hemmel Cafe will also be open from 9.30, so pre or post ski food and drink available.
