Today is the final day for reduced rate membership: single membership for the whole season is only £25, increasing to £35 after today. Family membership only £50 for all of the family ie parents and children, or even grandparents with grandchildren. This rate increases to £70 after today.

We’ve had 2 good days of skiing & boarding on excellent snow. There is still a full cover of snow across the field but the weather will be warm and wet today so the snow will deteriorate very quickly – if it survived the night. We won’t open today or tomorrow but we’ll review on Thursday when it becomes colder again. There is a chance we’ll be able to open at the weekend or early next week if the forecast is correct.

After a good day today – up to a foot of snow, tows will run tomorrow starting about 10.00am, probably until dusk.

there is 6 – 10″ of snow on field at Allenheads. We’ll run the tows from 10.00 tomorrow. if you haven’t paid your subscription for this season, reduced rate still apply so please pay before going to Allenheads.

The forecast is for some heavy snow showers tonight and tomorrow, however with very strong winds. It is very unlikely that we will be able to operate tomorrow but may be able to open on Sunday. We will update the website over the weekend and also put messages on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks to those who helped put up the tows the other Sunday. They’re both now ready and awaiting the snow.

Winter’s getting closer and its time to get ready for the snow. We’re putting the tows up this coming Sunday, 7th November starting 10.30 on the field at Allenheads. If you can get there earlier, all the better as the cabin will be open by 10.00. As ever, we need all the help we can get so that we can get the work done during the morning.

Membership is now open for the coming season. We expect to be back to normal and plan to fully operate the tows as usual. Lets hope for a repeat of last season’s snow when we could have run the tows for at least 30 days. 

There is more snow on our slope than indicated on neighbouring webcams. Often 6 inches and more in places where it had drifted. Unfortunately there are a few very thin if not bare patches where the wind has blown the snow. The ground is very wet as well. With the colder weather forecast, all we need now is a  little more snow as forecast later this week. Skis crossed.

Snow stopped but thawing on wet ground so not running tows today. Frost and more showers overnight so if the snow stays, may well be OK tomorrow. Will update in the morning.
